I'm Patice, the doula behind GLOW Perinatal Support.
The way we are supported matters.
My own birth experiences taught me that. What stayed with me wasn't the idea of a "perfect" birth, but the difference that thoughtful, present support can make in how people experience and remember those moments.
Over the years, I've come to believe that good support isn't about having all the answers. It's about paying attention.
Paying attention to the questions that haven't been asked yet. To the partner who's trying so hard to be helpful but isn't sure where to start. To the moment someone needs information, reassurance, a cool cloth, or simply a few quiet minutes without another voice in the room.
I don't arrive with a script or assumptions about what birth should look like, because birth rarely follows one. Every family brings different hopes, concerns, personalities, and priorities. My role is to help you understand your options, adjust when plans change, and feel supported in making decisions that are right for you.
Outside of birth work, I'm happiest trying new recipes, solving practical problems, wandering IKEA (where I've been known to discover surprisingly useful doula supplies), and creating systems that make life a little easier.Those same instincts follow me into birth spaces: notice what's needed, stay adaptable, and don't underestimate the value of small things done well.
